The majority of my clinical experience was spent at Virtua Voorhees Hospital where I completed various rotations including diabetes, pulmonary, gastrointestinal disease, cardiovascular disease, enteral nutrition support, oncology, hepatic and pancreatic disease. Throughout my time there I built quality relationships with the clinical nutrition staff as well as many nurses, social workers, residents and doctors throughout the hospital. I was fortunate to observe a PEG tube placement as well as an EGD procedure while working at Virtua. I regularly attended patient rounds, provided nutrition education, and applied a team approach with the medical staff  to provide the best possible care for my patients.

Clinical Experience

While at Hahnemann I completed my nutrition support rotation where I focused on enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies necessary to treat critically ill patients. I was also able to observe a video swallow evaluation with their speech pathologist team as well as use calorie counts and calculate electrolyte needs.

For my pediatric rotation, I was very fortunate to be able to spend time at CHOP working within their oncology and neonatal intensive care units. I worked closely with CHOP pediatric dietitians to determine patient needs, obstacles to adequate nutrition, assessing growth progression and analyzing growth charts and patient progress in this very delicate population.

During my MNT concentration, I worked at Cooper University Hospital to experience the role of the dietitian within a trauma unit. For three weeks I worked with Samantha Honeywell, RD, CNSC in the TICU and ICU assessing complex critically ill patients suffering from various complications including traumatic brain injuries, multiple fractures, and septic complications.
